All fans had to do was record a video of themselves singing the chorus to Khalid's song

"Location" and share it on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #KhalidTODAY

To kick things off, Khalid reached out to his fans on social media.

Then NBC reached out to their tv audience.

Across multiple platforms, the message was heard loud and clear by millions of Khalid's followers.

Right on cue, submissions began pouring in...

Leading up to the LIVE performance, when lucky fans got to see themselves on stage as one of Khalid's backups.

We designed logos and hats for event swag.

Which were such a hit, Matt Lauer couldn't even get one.

In the end, Citibank was able to connect with an audience they never had before in a

fresh and unique way. But most importantly, helped them feel a little more joy.
